I started running competitively at age 8.
I ran Cross Country and Track from 4th-12th grade at Green Valley Elementary, Scribner Middle School, And New Albany High School. I was a multiple time State Qualifier.
At age 10 I was recognized Nationally for winning a USA track and field meet just 7 seconds away from breaking the course record, I ran that race in 4 inches of snow.
At age 17 I finished 2nd in the AAU National Cross Country meet. I have been Coaching the Scribner Middle School team since 2009 and decided after a few years of coaching to bring the AAU program back to this area in 2013. Originally the SIRC (Southern Indiana Running Club) was called LHRC (Little Highlander Running Club) it was mainly coached by Clyde Miller and Dave Simpson. That team dissolved My Senior year in 2006. Miller informed me that I could have the club name if I wanted to restart the program, After further Thought I wanted it to be geared more towards ALL Floyd, Clark, and surrounding counties so changed the name from Little Highlanders.
My Personal goal is to have a 50 year program with the help of my other coaches. That will put me retiring from coaching at the age of 76! I also have 3 years of Olympic training for running.
I continues to race in the USATF Masters division and AAU National Masters race. My top finish in 2022 was 1st place in the nation.
